A Weekly Cleaning Schedule Recommendation
A guest-ready home

If you are a busy Mom, like me, who works 8 to 9-hour days, 6 days a week, you might need this cleaning schedule hack to make your house always ready to receive guests.
A few years back, when we got this 6-bedroom home, I was having a rough time in keeping up with housekeeping.
I did not know where to begin. It was just simply overwhelming. I tried different techniques and researched from the internet but, unfortunately, they did not work.
So, I would always spend my day off cleaning the house from top to bottom. It was exhausting! It also robs off my time spending with the kids.
Then I decided to make a weekly cleaning plan that will help me clean the house without taking the time away from the kids.
This routine consists of my morning, nightly, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule. It has been a huge help in keeping my home clean on a consistent basis.
Don't get me wrong, I love cleaning. But it was better when I started with the routine. It made it so much easier.
What I do is I schedule 1 room at a time. I do my morning routine, then I tackle a room when I get back home from work, then do a weekly task. It's ok when you missed to do a task that day, just catch up the next week. Life happens. We just do what we can do. As time goes by, you'll get used to it and it will be swift for you.
TIPS:
- Gather your supplies - I use my favorite Norwex envirocloth and Norwex mop system. All you need is water! No chemicals involved.
- Declutter - it's always better to start decluttering to prevent you from being overwhelmed.
- Use a checklist - It's always better to have a checklist, so you know what to tackle that day.
- Set a timer - Make sure to stick with your schedule to prevent you from taking up too much time cleaning and prevent you from resting.
CLEANING ROUTINE:
MORNING: Wipe all kitchen counters and appliance.
MONDAY: Bathroom #1 cleaning, dusting of furniture downstairs, vacuuming and mopping downstairs.
TUESDAY: Bathroom #2 cleaning, dusting of furniture upstairs, vacuuming upstairs.
WEDNESDAY: Bathroom #3 cleaning, Hot Tub care, cleaning of bedroom # 1 and changing of sheets
THURSDAY: Cleaning of the guest room (every other week), mowing the lawn (every other week).
FRIDAY: laundry, Master bedroom cleaning and changing of sheets.
SATURDAY: Grocery shopping, cleaning of the pantry.
MONTHLY: changing of all filters (AC), cleaning of hood filters and air filters, cleaning of the fridge, microwave and oven.
The kids clean their own bedrooms, so I don't worry about those. Sundays are spent with family and events.
I hope this guide helps you with cleaning , as much as it does to me.
